I. Introduction

GL（Aluminum-zinc plated steel sheet） is an alloy-plated steel sheet widely used in many fields such as building materials, home appliances, automobiles, environmental protection, machinery, and ships. The aluminum-zinc plating on the steel sheet surface is a coating composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon solidified at 600°C. Its entire structure forms a dense quaternary crystal of aluminum-iron-silicon-zinc, making it an alloy-plated steel sheet.

II. Advantages of GL

1.Corrosion Resistance
The corrosion resistance of "GL coil" mainly comes from aluminum, which provides a protective function. When zinc is worn, aluminum forms a dense aluminum oxide layer to prevent corrosive substances from further attacking the inner material.

2.Heat Resistance
GL alloy steel sheets have good heat resistance and can withstand temperatures above 300°C, similar to the high-temperature oxidation resistance of aluminum-plated steel sheets. They are often used in chimney pipes, ovens, lighting fixtures, and lampshades.

3.Thermal Reflectivity
The thermal reflectivity of GL steel sheets is twice that of galvanized steel sheets, making them commonly used as thermal insulation materials.

4.Economy
Since the density of 55% AL-Zn is lower than that of Zn, under the same weight and plating thickness, GL steel sheets cover an area 3% larger than galvanized steel sheets.

III. Applications of GL

①Construction: Roofs, garages, walls, pipes, and modular houses, etc.

②Automotive: Mufflers, exhaust pipes, wiper accessories, fuel tanks, truck boxes, etc.

③Home Appliances: Refrigerator back panels, gas stoves, air conditioners, electronic microwaves, LCD frames, CRT explosion-proof bands, LED backlights, electrical cabinets, etc.

④Agriculture: Pigsties, chicken coops, granaries, greenhouse pipes, etc.

⑤Others: Heat insulation covers, heat exchangers, dryers, water heaters, etc.

IV. Product Usage Precautions

①Storage: Store indoors in a warehouse, keep dry and ventilated, and do not leave it in an acidic environment for a long time. When stored outdoors, prevent rain and avoid oxidation spots caused by condensation.

②Transportation: Avoid external impacts. Use SKID to support GL coils during transportation, reduce stacking, and take rainproof measures.

③Processing: When shearing at the COILCENTER, use the same lubricating oil as that for aluminum sheets. When drilling or cutting GL steel sheets, promptly remove scattered iron filings.
